Unlike gas heaters, there are no valves, burners, moving parts, and other components to regularly maintain. Electric heaters are over 90% efficient and don’t produce sound, odors, or toxic emissions into the environment. They are more attractive, efficient, and easier to operate and maintain than gas heaters. Enjoying the comfort of electric heat is as easy as flipping on a switch! You can adjust the power easily ranging from 0 - 100% with Infratech Controls.
Electrical outdoor heaters are highly economical to operate. You can estimate your operating costs by multiplying the total kilowatts by your local power rate for a “kilowatt hour” (kwh). Rates may vary depending on your market, so check your monthly utility statement for confirmation. For example, one of our 3,000 watt heaters at full power would cost about $0.39 per hour based on a rate of $0.13 per kwh.
With our free design and consultation, one of our experts will evaluate your needs and help you determine how many heaters you’ll need for your setup.
It’s important to choose a heater size that has adequate heat output for the mounting height and area it needs to cover. If you select too small of a unit, the functionality may suffer. Connect with one of our specialists to determine the best size for your outdoor space.
Many new homes and businesses are supplied with 208-volt power, as opposed to the more familiar 240-volt option. It is very important to determine your power voltage before ordering and installing a heater. A 240-volt heater on 208 volts of power will only produce about 60% of the desired infrared energy. Consult a licensed electrician to determine the actual voltage at your property’s location. Infratech heaters are available in single and dual element 120, 208, 240, 277 and 480-volt models.
Our Infratech heaters are Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Canadian Underwriters Laboratories (cUL) Listed under File E 29825. We are NZ/Australia and CE Listed under Wakefield Laboratories File NSW 21732. All Infratech fixtures are also certified IP X4 rated.
Infratech solid-state controls provide efficient and versatile control options for your heaters. While other choices exist for controls, Infratech’s solid-state controls are engineered specifically for your heaters.
Infratech quartz elements are rated for up to 5,000 hours of use. You can enjoy years of comfort before ever needing to replace quartz elements.
While operating costs can vary by region, electric heaters are competitive with natural gas and less expensive than propane. Factors like hours of usage and power will impact your costs to operate. When factoring in maintenance costs and purchase price, electric infrared heaters are the clear winner.
